Sheffield Hen Harrier Day brought one the largest birding movements out of the Peak District National Park and into the centre of the Outdoor City’s Urban Jungle. Overhead the sun shone, peregrines circled and seven speakers addressed more than 300 supporters and the media of the need to do more to protect our birds of prey. In particular the Hen Harrier which was once driven to extinction in mainland Britain and continues to be threatened in England today. Not by competition from other species
